<p>P&O says that no talks have taken place with Toll Holdings over an alliance of its container terminals in Australia with Toll’s logistics operations.</p> <p>Commenting on reports in the <em>Australian Financial Review</em> this week, P&O Australia chief executive Tim Blood said he "is able to confirm that neither P&O or its parent DP World in Dubai have been in any talks with Toll". </p> <p>The <em>AFR </em> had quoted Toll chief Paul Little yesterday (Thursday, April 6) as saying "the P&O assets may well be available to us through an alliance arrangement", as well as noting that owning Patrick "is not the only solution" to Toll’s ambitions to enter stevedoring. </p> <p>The paper reported Mr Little saying that Toll was already in discussions with DP World. </p> <p>P&O is known to be pursuing its own plan to expand land-based operations in Australia, following the opening of on-dock and suburban intermodal facilities in Melbourne and the launch of a Melbourne/Adelaide rail service. </p> <br />
