<p>The New South Wales Government has promised unions it has not made "any formal or informal agreement" to proceed with an Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) proposal to lease the state’s track.</p> <p>The pledge was made in a letter NSW treasurer Michael Egan sent to the Rail Tram and Bus Union.</p> <p>"I can assure you that no decisions will be made on the ARTC lease proposal until the formal evaluation process is complete," he said.</p> <p>Mr Egan said the evaluation process will deal with the issues of job security, maintenance of rail infrastructure and NSW regional communities.</p> <br />
