Backplane Systems Technology says the new Nuvo-7100VTC rugged in-vehicle computer provides a significant step-up in performance over previous generations.
The Nuvo-7100VTC is a recent addition to the Sydney-headquartered industrial technology supplier’s range, joining other Neousys devices like the Nuvo-2510VTC and the Nuvo-5100VTC.
A Backplane spokesperson told Rail Express the new Nuvo-7100VTC gets its improved performance capabilities from a purpose-built set, a 6-core architecture and 64GB of DDR4 memory.
It’s designed to support a range of peripherals and connections, with either four or eight 802.3at PoE+ ports to supply 25W power to connected devices like IP cameras. Connections are ruggedized for shock and vibration environments with M12 X-Coded connectors and connector screw-lock mechanisms on I/O ports like Gigabit Ethernet, USB3.0 and USB3.1.
Beyond physical connections, the device also supports wireless connectivity. “You can simultaneously utilise two M.2 and three Mini-PCIe Sockets with corresponding Wireless Modules for 3G/4G, WiFi, GPS, and CAN Module for communication,” the spokesperson explains.
“On top of all that, Nuvo-7100VTC also features Isolated CAN Bus for in-vehicle communication, isolated DIO for sensor/actuator control, 8~35V wide-range DC input with ignition power control and is E-Mark and EN 50155 certified.”
