New plan to boost Goulburn as intermodal hub

<p>The push towards making Goulburn a transport hub gained more traction yesterday (Wednesday, February 14) as superannuation investment firm Mariner Financial said it had put forward plans to the State Government for the Southern Distribution Business Park (SDBP).</p> <p>The initiative, expected to represent $1bn in infrastructure and building investment over 15 years, is owned by a joint venture between Mariner’s Mariner Land subsidiary and local investors called Southern Distribution Hub Pty Ltd.</p> <p>If approved by the Department of Planning, SDBP would sit on 263 ha, have access to road, rail and air transport and boast direct links with Port Kembla, Port Botany and Pyrmont, Mariner said.</p> <p>Construction is predicted to start next year.</p> <p>Last year, Eureka Funds Management and Mycorp unveiled plans for a 170-ha hub at Murrays Flat, 10km north of Goulburn.</p> <br />
