<span class="" id="parent-fieldname-description"> More details have emerged for the Federal Governmentâs new-look Infrastructure Australia (IA) with Mark Birrell succeeding Sir Rod Eddington as IAâs new chairman and John Fitzgerald appointed as the interim acting Australian Government infrastructure coordinator. </span> <p>By Jennifer Perry</p><p>Sir Rod Eddington Eddington has been chairman of IA since 2008 and his term expired on April 8. He has agreed to take up a role with the APEC Business Advisory Council at the request of Prime Minister Tony Abbott and recommended Mark Birrell as his replacement.</p><div>A spokesperson for deputy prime minister and minster for infrastructure and regional development Warren Truss told <em>Rail Express</em> that Sir Rod has made an “exceptional contribution” to the infrastructure industry and to IA.
