<p>Miner New Hope expected to expand its Queensland Bulk Handling port facility in Brisbane, chairman Robert Milner said today.</p> <p>The facility’s ship loading system can load up to 60,000 tonnes a day at present with a storage capacity of 300,000 tonnes.</p> <p>The move would come on the back of its $2.45bn New Saraji coal project sale to the BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance.</p> <p>New Hope would also look to expand its New Acland mine near Toowoomba.</p> <p>"We are planning significant improvements to the mine, including increasing the rail capacity form the mine," Mr Milner said.</p> <p>"We will also be able to continue the expansion of our wholly owned QBH port facility, which is essentially a demurrage-free facility to more than 7m tonnes by a year by 2010."</p> <br />
