Melbourne’s Pakenham Station has been recognised at the 2026 Better Future Awards, receiving four honours for its functional and aesthetic spaces.
The station won Gold in both the “Architecture and Public Realm” and “Architecture – Transport” categories at the Better Future GOV Design Awards.
Meanwhile as part of the Better Future Australian Design Awards, it received Gold in the “Architecture – Community & Civic” category, and Silver in the “Urban Design” category.
The judging panel praised the station’s “bold architectural expression, integration of Indigenous storytelling and innovative sustainability features”, the Victorian Government said.
The elevated Pakenham Station and rail bridge were delivered as part of Victoria’s Level Crossing Removal Project, opening in 2024 alongside the new East Pakenham Station.
