<p>Academic Greg Martin was appointed chairman of the National Transport Commission, federal transport minister Anthony Albanese said yesterday.</p> <p>The move came nearly three months after Mr Martin’s predecessor, Michael Deegan, took the chairman’s position with Infrastructure Australia.</p> <p>Mr Martin had held the acting chairman role, after being appointed deputy chairman in April.</p> <p>Mr Albanese also appointed another academic with government advisory experience, Professor Frank Muller, to the commission.</p> <p>Both Mr Martin and Professor Muller have been appointed until April 2011.</p> <br />
