A man has had his arm severed after an apparent accidental fall onto the tracks at Warwick Farm railway station in Sydney’s south-west.
NSW Police said they responded to a call to the Sydney Trains station at roughly 10.50pm on Tuesday night.
Officer s from Liverpool Local Area Command and South West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad arrived at the station to find a 41-year-old man partially trapped under a Sydney Trains vehicle, with a severed arm.
“The officers applied first aid to the man, including a makeshift tourniquet, while an operation to free him commenced by Ambulance Paramedics,” a Police statement said.
The man was reportedly trapped for over an hour before being freed. He was conveyed to Liverpool Hospital by Ambulance Paramedics.
“Investigations continue into how the man ended up on the tracks, however it appears he fell from the platform unintentionally,” the statement added.
