Inland Rail is hosting two free events in Wagga Wagga and Albury in April for local businesses to find out how to get their workforce ready for potential future opportunities in the Inland Rail supply chain.
Hosted by the Inland Rail Skills Academy, the sessions will help attendees learn about prospective workforce requirements and how to access Australian government support to take on apprentices and trainees.
The sessions will allow attendees to build professional connections and network with employment service providers, local schools, federal and state agencies, Australian Apprenticeship Support Network providers, Regional Development Australia, and other related organisations.
Stephen Jones, Inland Rail Director of Health, Safety and Environment, said that Inland Rail is deliviring real and lasting opportunities.
“We encourage local businesses to come along, build your network and take steps to grow your workforce at these development events,” he said.
“During construction, Inland Rail will be bustling with jobs and economic activity. We’re also working to prepare communities for other project opportunities by helping to upskill local and First Nations businesses.
“Our workforce development events are just part of Inland Rail’s commitment to communities where Australia’s largest freight project is being built and operated.”
Event attendees will be presented with an update of Inland Rail’s Albury to Illabo project, as well as hear presentations from the Inland Rail Skills Academy and the Workforce Australia Local Jobs Program.
