Level crossing safety forum to be held in Sydney

A host of experts from rail, government, road, police and other groups are set to speak at the level crossing safety forum.

LEVEL crossing safety is an issue requiring a collective, all-encompassing approach with relevant authorities to ensure common issues can be workshopped collaboratively.
Building on the success of the 2018 Level Crossing Forum in Melbourne, in July the TrackSAFE Foundation will host experts from rail, government, road, police and other key groups to address level crossing safety issues and share knowledge and lessons learned in level crossing safety.
The Forum is to also see the launch of the National Level Crossing Portal (NLXP).
The NLXP is a web-based tool for stakeholders to access and visualise level crossing safety information, trends and insights.
It provides level crossing committees, rail industry associations and rail transport operators with on-demand access to level crossing safety incident and risk assessment data, through a suite of tailored, interactive and intuitive dashboards.
Developed by the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator (ONRSR) on behalf of the National Level Crossing Safety Committee, the NLXP enables better data-driven and risk-based decision making, to improve the safety of level crossings across Australia.

More information on the program is to be made available soon.
