The long-awaited AusLink white paper will be released in June, federal transport minister John Anderson’s office confirmed today (Wednesday, April 21).
“The government’s current intention is to announce funding arrangements and an overview of transport corridors in the budget and then release the detailed AusLink white paper in June,” a spokesman for Mr Anderson told Lloyd’s List DCN .
The spokesman said the budget funding announcements and the white paper will be released separately because they are both “extremely significant” and detailed documents.
The white paper has already been completed, he said
“It’s done. The government has made its decisions,” the spokesman said.
In the budget announcement, the industry can expect to hear a state-by-state breakdown of the of the AusLink funding but will have to wait until June for details of the rail/road differentiation and the government’s priorities for specific land transport projects, he said.
