<p>The Australian Railroad Group (ARG) and Portman have topped 20m tonnes in hauling iron ore to the port of Esperance.</p> <p>The operation began in 1994 with an initial target of 1.5m tonnes of iron ore railed from the Koolyanobbing mine to the port in the first 12 months.</p> <p>Volumes have grown significantly in the last three years, and in August 2003 ARG set a monthly record of 458,000 tonnes.</p> <p>Longer trains and increased wagon capacity helped lift targets, ARG said. </p> <br />
