The NSW Office of Transport Safety Investigations (OTSI) will lead a probe into the derailment of five wagons from a freight train near Goulburn on March 31.

According to a brief report on the Australian Transport Safety Bureau’s website SCT Logistics freight train 7MB9 was re-joining the Up main line near Goulburn from the Up refuge, just after 4am on March 31, when five of its wagons derailed.

The train was a Melbourne to Brisbane service.

Significant damage was caused to the wagons and adjacent infrastructure in the incident but no injuries were reported.
