<p>QR celebrated the 50 th anniversary of air-conditioned train travel in Queensland, with a birthday cake for the crew and passengers of the Inlander at Townsville Station last week before the train departed for Mount Isa.</p> <p>The Inlander’s sleeping cars were the first air-conditioned cars of their kind in Australia.</p> <p>QR reported that patronage on the Inlander rose in 2001቞ to 10,948 passengers, a 9.7% increase on 2000ቝ.</p> <br />
