Inland Rail 2019 just a week away

Time is running out to join more than 400 delegates at the 2019 Inland Rail Conference in Toowoomba, set to kick off in under a week.

The Australasian Railway Association and Australian Logistics Council are teaming up for the event, which will feature addresses from both the transport and infrastructure minister Michael McCormack, and Labor’s shadow minister Catherine King.

With the theme Connecting Regions, Building Australia, the conference will focus on how this nationally significant infrastructure project will transform the movement of freight in Australia.

Joining the senior government stakeholders on the program are presentations and panel discussions from a key customers, operators, contractors, suppliers and consultants.

The agenda includes a close examination of opportunities and challenges associated with the Queensland section of the project, including the 126km section from Toowoomba to Kagaru in Queensland, which is proposed to be delivered through a Public Private Partnership (PPP) and would involve large-scale tunnelling.
