Heritage-listed Clayton ticket office given new life

Clayton station’s heritage-listed ticketing office has been carefully restored and relocated outside the new elevated station, which was built as part of the Caulfield to Dandenong Level Crossing Removal Project.

The old station building was in 2016 moved to Chisholm Institute of TAFE’s Dandenong campus, where Chisholm staff and more than 200 students worked under the guidance of heritage adviser and heritage architect to restore it.

Towards the end of December the building was instated to ground level in the south of the Clayton Station precinct.

Inside visitors can see photos and detailed information highlighting the rich rail history of the area.
