<p>Federal vocational and technical education minister Gary Hardgrave yesterday (Sunday, December 10) backed pressure for an inland transportation hub in southern Queensland as the issue of chronic Brisbane air pollution heated up at the weekend.</p> <p>"We need a dry port so that freight can travel by rail to be shipped out, rather than having trucks travelling through our suburbs," the <em>Courier-Mail</em> quoted Mr Hardgrave, the MP for the southern Brisbane seat of Moreton, as saying. </p> <p>Mr Hardgrave had sought for 10 years to cut the number of trucks in Brisbane, the paper said.</p> <br />
