<p>The discovery of a grenade in Sydney’s inner west caused only minor disruptions to freight services yesterday (Monday, May 22).</p> <p>New South Wales Police and Fire Brigade crews went to an area in the Sydenham rail precinct, near Sydenham station, after hearing reports that a “dangerous object” was seen near the tracks.</p> <p>A spokesman for NSW Police told <em>Lloyd’s List DCN</em> that army ordinance personnel removed an old relic hand grenade from the area and disposed of it. </p> <p>A Railcorp spokesman said that a freight train was delayed for up to 40 minutes because of the finding. </p> <br />
