Gravy train gets drivers back on track

<p>The New South Wales Government and rail unions have struck a deal that should help alleviate the delays on Sydney’s passenger network.</p> <p>Train drivers will now get a bonus of up to $400 a month for working extra shifts and improved meal rooms.</p> <p>RailCorp has been forced to cancel up to 88 suburban trains a day over the past week because of a shortage of train drivers.</p> <p>A group of 300 drivers had refused to work overtime to cover shortages.</p> <p>Tougher medical standards, introduced earlier this month in the wake of Waterfall crash inquiry report, have led to some drivers being suspended from driving duties.</p> <br />
