<p>A report determining a future rail corridor between Helidon and Grandchester in Queensland was released last week for public comment.</p> <p>The draft report completes the first stage of the long-term investigation to provide a high standard rail service between Toowoomba and Brisbane.</p> <p>Part two of the Gowrie-Grandchester Rail Corridor Study (GGRCS) – the Helidon-Gowrie section – is under way.</p> <p>Recommendations in the report include:</p> <p>• Preserving land along the corridor</p> <p>• Undertaking further economic analysis</p> <p>• Assessing potential passenger station locations and</p> <p>• Future detailed environmental assessment.</p> <p>The community now has the opportunity to comment until June 7 on part one before finalisation by the study team.</p> <br />
