<p>Queues at the port of Gladstone have been shortened, but upgrades to the RG Tanna coal terminal, due for completion in July, will now take longer, the <em>Australian Financial Review</em> reports this morning (Monday, April 3).</p> <p>Central Queensland Ports Authority chief executive Leo Zussino told the newspaper that the third shiploader and third rail loop would now be completed by the end of the year.</p> <p>Queues for Gladstone had been reduced from 28 ships in early March, to 17 late last week, with the port recording about 1m tonnes of coal per week.</p> <p>The terminal is due to increase from 40 to 65m tonnes per year by 2007, as part of a $600m expansion program. </p> <br />
