Ghan’s inaugural Adelaide-Darwin trip underway

<p>Great Southern Railway’s Ghan service is on schedule to arrive in Darwin tomorrow (Tuesday, February 3) on its inaugural journey from Adelaide.</p> <p>Thousands of spectators were on hand in Adelaide yesterday (Sunday) to cheer the departing train and its 600 guests out of Keswick Rail Terminal.</p> <p>At 43 carriages and more than 1 km in length, the train is claimed to be the longest passenger train in Australian rail history.</p> <p>It follows the beginning of FreightLink’s freight services on the same newly completed rail line just over two weeks ago.</p> <br />
