The first print edition of Rail Express in 2017 will include a feature on the state of women and gender equality in the rail industry.

Rail Express will return to print in June, covering news and current affairs in the rail sector. Women in Rail will serve as the magazine’s first feature in 2017.

The goal of gender equality is a key focus across all Australian and New Zealand industries.

But rail lags behind other industries, with women representing less than one fifth of the workforce from top to bottom.

Rail Express will cover the politics, initiatives, trends and storylines surrounding women in the rail sector, with a focus on the opportunities available to companies and individuals.

The feature will cover:

  • The barriers to entry faced by women looking to start a career in rail
  • The initiatives underway to lower those barriers, and to promote the cultural shift required for change to happen
  • The benefits of gender equality in the workplace
  • Interviews with women at all levels of the rail sector, from the railway to the boardroom
  • The view from Canberra: What politicians have to say

Along with the Women in Rail feature, the first print issue of 2017 will also provide readers with Rail Express’ usual high quality coverage and analysis of the Australasian rail sector.

The magazine will be distributed to thousands of our print subscribers, as well as thousands more online, in its digital format.

A wide range of editorial and advertising opportunities are available.
