Funding sweetener secures WA’s AusLink agreement

<p>A further $52m from the Federal Government for rail and road projects, has persuaded Western Australia to sign the AusLink funding agreement. </p> <p>State infrastructure minister Alannah MacTiernan said WA’s campaign to hold out for a better share of funding before signing the agreement had paid off.</p> <p>The concessions include:</p> <p>&#8226 $28m for the east-west rail link, including passing loops and track re-sleepering</p> <p>&#8226 $11.9m for a new interchange between the Roe Highway and Great Eastern Highway and</p> <p>&#8226 $11.5m for a grade separation of road and rail for improved access to the Kewdale and Forrestfield industrial areas.</p> <br />
