<p>A freight train derailment in Mildura has caused extensive damage to 300 metres of track and threatened about $1m of agricultural exports.</p> <p>The <em>Herald Sun</em> reported this morning (Tuesday, May 22) that the derailment – at 6:45 pm on Sunday, 550 km northwest of Melbourne – was blocking an intersection in central Mildura, near the New South Wales border.</p> <p>Wakefield Transportation told the newspaper that its goods, including wine, fruit and table grapes, would be moved by road to Adelaide.</p> <p>The transport company’s group manager Ken Wakefield said it was the third derailment on the line so far this month.</p> <br />
