<p>A freight train derailment in central Tasmania yesterday has sparked further criticism of the standard of the state’s below-rail infrastructure.</p> <p>The ABC reported that three locomotives and two carriages from the train had derailed south of Colebrook, about 50 km north of Hobart.</p> <p>Tasmanian infrastructure minister Graeme Sturges immediately moved onto the front foot, predicting that the state opposition and the Greens would use the incident to gain political advantage. </p> <p>The opposition said continued derailments were impeding the attractiveness of the rail freight operations and hurting the island state’s economy.</p> <p>Asciano continues to try to sell its Pacific National business in Tasmania.</p> <p>Mr Sturges warned his political rivals not to pre-empt the cause of the derailment. </p> <p>Repair work was expected to finish today.</p> <br />
