<p>A fatal train collision at an unprotected level crossing in Melbourne’s southwest yesterday (Monday, March 24) has had no impact on rail freight services.</p> <p>Two people were killed when a family’s four-wheel-drive hit a V/Line passenger train at Considines Road, Modewarre.</p> <p>The vehicle was dragged about 150 metres from the crossing before coming to a rest on its roof.</p> <p>The family’s possessions were strewn along the rail line as emergency workers spent an hour trying to free one of the children from the wreckage.</p> <p>Westvic Container Handling managing director Warrick Loft said that the accident had not disturbed rail freight services and had not damaged the rail line.</p> <p>“If I hadn’t read about it in the paper, I wouldn’t have known,” Mr Loft told <em>Lloyd’s List DCN</em> . “We have not been affected.”</p> <br />
