<p>Freight Australia has taken its grievances over the Victorian Government’s access regime to court.</p> <p>The rail operator has been fighting the regime for nearly a year because it does not allow the company to recoup its capital investment.</p> <p>It has taken the issue to the Australian Competition Tribunal, which is now deliberating on the case.</p> <p>Freight Australia chief executive officer Marinus van Onselen said the company wants a fair pricing policy that is in line with Australian Competition and Consumer Commission rules. He wants Victoria to have a similar regime to the one governing Australian Rail Track Corporation’s interstate track.</p> <p>The National Competition Council is assessing the Victorian regime and a position paper on the proposal raises several concerns about the pricing principles.</p> <br />
