Freight Australia derailment closes track near Bendigo

<p>Freight Australia track crews are working to repair damaged lines after a train derailment near Bendigo last night (Thursday, June 10).</p> <p>The train locomotive and 15 grains wagons, destined for the port of Geelong, derailed at Tarnagulla, overturning several wagons, a Freight Australia spokeswoman said.</p> <p>The locomotive remained upright, she said.</p> <p>The line will probably remain closed until Sunday while crews remove the rollingstock and repair track and ballast.</p> <p>It was too early to speculate on the cause of the derailment and the incident was being investigated, the spokeswoman said.</p> <br />
