<p>The Fortescue Metals Group has appealed to the Australian Competition Tribunal to be allowed access to a Pilbara rail line owned by BHP Billiton, the ABC reported this morning (Tuesday, June 13).</p> <p>FMG wants to use the railway to transport iron ore from its Mindy Mindy deposit, which is adjacent to the BHP Billiton-owned line.</p> <p>Late last month, federal treasurer Peter Costello refused to uphold a recommendation by the National Competition Council that BHP allow third parties to use the line.</p> <br />
