<p>Central Australian flood damage will cost OneSteel $15m-$30m due to rail damage inside and outside its Whyalla operations, the company said today (Monday, January 22).</p> <p>“Supplementary material will be trucked to minimise disruption to steelworks operations,” the company said.</p> <p>Its Whyalla Steelworks faces “internal logistics disruptions” but production was due to restart today after a hiatus over the weekend.</p> <p>The costs will include “clean-up, production disruptions restoring rail operations, the rescheduling of deliveries of steel products and deferral of iron ore shipments”.</p> <p>Whyalla and Hawker bore the brunt of infrastructure damage and the road from Iron Knob and Cowell, to Whyalla will stay closed until tomorrow at the earliest.</p> <br />
