First look inside Arden

The public is being offered the chance to see first-hand how work is progressing at the future Arden Station in North Melbourne, set to open in 2025.

The Arden Station and Tunnel Tour on Sunday, 27 March will provide an exclusive glimpse into the world of the city-shaping Metro Tunnel project that will transform the way people move around Melbourne.

The Tunnel will bring more trains to suburbs and reduce travel times by running the busy Cranbourne, Pakenham and Sunbury lines through a new tunnel. By untangling the City Loop, more trains can run more often across Melbourne.

Visitors will have the opportunity to walk through a section of the project’s nine-kilometre twin tunnels before crews start laying 40 kilometres of track in the coming months. They can even have photos taken in the tunnel.

Visitors will also get a unique insight into the complexity of building this massive infrastructure project and be among the first to stand under the huge brick arches that will be a new landmark for the future Arden precinct.

Bookings are mandatory and places will go quickly. Numbers are limited to keep everyone safe and to ensure building of the Metro Tunnel in uninterrupted.

For more information, including health and safety requirements and accessibility considerations, and to book a place, visit the Arden Station and Tunnel Tour page.
