Final sleepers laid on South West Rail Link

<span class="" id="parent-fieldname-description"> The last of 53,000 rail sleepers in the final section of track for Sydney’s South West Rail Link have been laid, which will see the rail link open in 2015 – 15 months earlier than originally planned. </span> <p><span style="font-size:10.0ptline-height:115%Arial&quot,&quotsans-serif&quot">NSW premier, and minister for Western Sydney, Barry O’Farrell, said the project would also come in more than $100m under the original budget, of $2.1bn.</span></p><div><span style="font-size:10.0ptline-height:115%Arial&quot,&quotsans-serif&quot">“Not only will we be running train services ahead of the originally announced date of 2016, we will also complete the project under budget,” O’Farrell said.</span>
