<p>Visionstream has won a $21.5m contract to design, install and maintain a 500-km fibre optic network along Victoria’s regional fast rail project country lines.</p> <p>The network will upgrade signal and rail communications for fast rail services to Geelong, Ballarat, Bendigo and the Latrobe Valley.</p> <p>Any surplus capacity above Victrack’s needs will be used to boost regional telecommunications in the state.</p> <p>Installation of the network will start by December 2002 with completion scheduled for early 2004.</p> <br />
