<p>Western Australian pig iron concern Ferrowest is working with infrastructure firm WestNet Rail to take advantage of rail infrastructure expansion plans for the state’s mid-west region.</p> <p>Ferrowest hopes the possible reinstatement of a rail link the Golden West Resources project at Wiluna will allow a 7 km spur to be built servicing its Yalgoo iron project, allowing product to be transported to Geraldton without the need transfer by truck.</p> <p>Ferrowest is developing a 500,000 tonnes a year production facility and possible lines include iron concentrates, hot briquetted iron and merchant pig iron.</p> <br />
