Residents living in and around Armadale are being invited to have their say on the new METRONET Armadale Station in Perth, which will be delivered as part of a significant upgrade to the Armadale Line.
The new station will be one of seven new sites delivered as part of the METRONET Victoria Park Canning-Level Crossing Removal and Byford Rail Extension projects, which will also see 13 level crossings removed and 5.5 kilometres of elevated rail added.
The new facility will include three platforms, new public open spaces and better connectivity between the town centre and station.
The design incorporates feedback from the community provided during consultation earlier this year.
Replacing the old station, it will better serve the growing Armadale population and give the community an improved connection across the rail corridor, and access to new open spaces for people to enjoy within the city centre.
Significant work is also underway to prepare for the 18-month shut down of the Armadale Line later this year, including construction of three new bus interchanges – one of them being in Armadale.
The design for the new station has been released as part of the development application submitted to the Western Australian Planning Commission.

Transport minister Rita Saffioti said the station would be a great asset for the Armadale community and would create new public open spaces for people to enjoy.
“Importantly, the design will improve the connectivity between the Armadale town centre and the station, something that has been raised by the local community,” she said.
“We understand that to deliver these significant improvements, there will be disruption with the train line needing to close for 18 months later this year. To help we are undertaking significant work to make sure the shutdown is as smooth as possible.
“To support the shutdown, we are building three new bus interchanges, including one in Armadale, that will provide the community with alternative public transport options while the closure is in place.”
