Major track closures will take place in Queensland from Saturday 20 December to Sunday 26 January, as part of Cross River Rail project works and essential maintenance.
Translink said the scale and complexity of these works requires a longer closure period to keep crews safe and complete as much work as possible.
A spokesperson for Cross River Rail added: “These works are essential to upgrade South East Queensland’s rail network as it undergoes a once-in-a-generation transformation to support our growing population.”
Passengers will be impacted by the track closures, with timetable changes on all lines.
“Please consider your transport options and plan your journey as your best travel option may change over the 38-day period,” Translink said in an update.
