EDI Rail wins $250m Pacific National contract

<p>EDI rail has won a five-year contract to maintain more than 300 Pacific National locomotives, parent company Downer EDI said today (Wednesday, September 22).</p> <p>The contract is worth more than $250m and covers general maintenance and the overhaul of locomotive fleets in New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia.</p> <p>The work will take place at a variety of EDI rail and Pacific National sites &#8211 mostly in NSW.</p> <p>EDI rail’s chief executive, Guy Wannop, said the company already has a close relationship with Pacific National as a supplier of rollingstock and maintenance services.</p> <p>The companies have developed a plan to ensure there will be no interruption to Pacific National’s core business, Mr Wannop said.</p> <p>EDI Rail will soon call for expressions of interest to expand the company’s workforce to meet the demands of the contract, he said. </p> <br />
