Eddington given warm welcome as AI chairman

<p>Industry bodies including the Australian Logistics Council and the Australian Trucking Association welcomed Sir Rod Eddington’s appointment yesterday (Tuesday, February 26) as Infrastructure Australia’s inaugural chairman.</p> <p>"He has agreed to lead this new national body as it begins work on developing long-term solutions for infrastructure bottlenecks and decades of underinvestment in the nation’s transport, water, energy and communication assets," federal infrastructure and transport minister Anthony Albanese said.</p> <p>"I am very pleased to have someone of Sir Rod Eddington’s calibre as chair of Infrastructure Australia."</p> <p>Mr Albanese noted Sir Rod’s success in turning around the fortunes of Qantas and his work on transport infrastructure reports in Britain and Victoria.</p> <p>"His experience, capacity to cut through and identify the critical issues, and proven ability to finding innovative solutions will assist the Government in its efforts to bring national leadership to infrastructure development," Mr Albanese said.</p> <br />
