<p>Fortescue Metals Group could rely on road haulage to get its iron ore to Port Hedland when it loads its projected first shipment in May.</p> <p><em>The West Australian</em> reported yesterday (Monday, January 28) that there appeared to be serious doubts about whether the aspiring miner’s 260-km rail line would be operating at full capacity by then.</p> <p>The newspaper said some aspects of the rail operation, such as signalling, might not be ready, limiting the use of the track.</p> <p>Fortescue is aiming to export 55m tonnes of iron ore in 2009, pushing that up to 100m tonnes in 2010. </p> <br />
