CRT deal seals major advantages says legal advisor

CRT Group’s legal advisor in the company’s recent sale to Queensland Rail said that the purchase added impetus to QR’s bid to become a national force in transport.

Middleton’s lead partner in the sale, Sebastian Greene, said that amid intense competition and consolidation in the rail and logistics sector, the purchase "demonstrates great weight of value to both parties given that terminal space in Melbourne is extremely difficult to secure".

Mr Greene also noted that the deal was a rare sale of a private company, in this case a family company as well, to a state-owned enterprise.

"There are not many sales going in this direction", he said.
