Cross River Rail has advised that the Shorncliffe line will close from Monday August 4 to Thursday August 7, and again from Monday September 1 to Thursday September 4.
Buses will replace trains between Northgate and Shorncliffe stations.
The Shorncliffe line is the pilot line for testing the European Train Control System, which is progressively being installed on key parts of the South East Queensland rail network.
This includes the Cross River Rail tunnels and on the Gold Coast line between Beenleigh and Varsity Lakes stations.
Buses will also replace trains between Northgate and Shorncliffe stations from 7.45pm to last service each evening between Tuesday 29 and Thursday 31 July.
In addition to weeknight closures, extended weekday closures on the line are continuing throughout 2025 and into 2026.
Cross River Rail says the closures will facilitate staff training and the collection of performance data from trains fitted with ETCS.
Shorncliffe line trains will continue to run between Northgate and Roma Street stations.
Express railbus R347 will be available between Northgate and Sandgate stations from first service to 7pm, and railbus R348 will be available from all stations between Shorncliffe and Northgate throughout the closure
Passengers travelling towards the city are advised to take a railbus to Northgate station and transfer to a train to continue their journey.
