<p>The Australasian Railway Association’s National Rail Safety Week will start on Sunday, July 23, the association said yesterday (Thursday, July 13).</p> <p>“The aim of the week is to raise awareness about level crossing safety with the assistance of the media,” ARA chief executive Brian Nye said.</p> <p>“The industry is passionate about safety at level crossings and we want to get this message into the public arena.”</p> <p>Routes identified by operators as having a high frequency of near misses or other incidents will be highlighted and interviews with rail staff will be organised. </p> <p>Participants will include ARG, the Australian Rail Track Corporation, Pacific National, Public Transport Authority WA, QR, RailCorp, TransAdelaide, Connex and V/Line. </p> <br />
