Costa flags Sydney rail split into five lines

New South Wales transport services minister Michael Costa is today (Thursday, August 21) expected to unveil plans to split Sydney rail services into five distinct lines.

The plans envisage a series of changes over the next five to 10 years to free-up the city’s clogged passenger rail network, the Sydney Morning Herald reported this morning.

It is hoped the division will allow pinch points and bottlenecks to be better isolated without affecting the entire network.
