<p>Queensland’s Crime and Misconduct Commission will investigate a Queensland Government decision to bankroll a $20m rail and road deviation to Macarthur Coal’s Coppabella mine, the <em> Australian</em> reports</p> <p>The investigation will reportedly centre around a $300,000 loan issued by Macarthur Coal chief executive Ken Talbot to former minister Gordon Nuttall in 2001. </p> <p>Funding for the Coppabella deviation was subsequently allocated to the deviation in the 2003 state budget.</p> <p>Acting premier Anna Bligh said yesterday (Sunday, November 12) that all documentation relating to the deviation would be made available to the commissioin.</p> <p>It’s understood commission chairman Robert Needham briefed premier Peter Beattie about the Nuttall investigation before he departed on an overseas trip last week.</p> <br />
