Consultancy Meyrick gains NTC boss Salter

<p>The former government transport economist, policy analyst and strategist, Paul Salter, had joined Meyrick in Melbourne, the transport consulting group said yesterday (Sunday, February 10).</p> <p>Mr Salter arrived after a 10-year career in state and national government transport positions, most recently as a general manager at the National Transport Commission.</p> <p>Meyrick chief executive Steve Meyrick said Mr Salter’s track record of successfully leading national transport reform, "particularly in the area of rail safety, shows that he has a lot to offer". </p> <p>Mr Salter saw his new consulting role as one of providing opportunities to assist the process of transport reform. </p> <p>"The past 10 years have seen significant law reforms and regulatory initiatives, such as the intelligent access program chain of responsibility performance based standards and a range of pricing reforms," he said.</p> <p>"I have had the benefit of being part of their development.</p> <p>"I see significant opportunities to integrate the use of these reforms and coordinate their application across modes, combined with targeted investment in infrastructure. When this happens, the promise offered will be realised."</p> <br />
