Queensland’s Buranda Station will reopen on Monday June 30, following a major accessibility upgrade.
New features include a footbridge with lift access, upgraded hearing augmentation loops and tactile ground surfaces indicators, upgraded security cameras and lighting, and full-length, high-level platforms.
The station will also boast new wayfinding and platform signage, accessible toilets, disability-compliant ticket windows and parking bay, improved seating, extended platform shelters and an upgraded station office and facilities.
Buranda Station was closed in early 2024 to facilitate the renovations, which were carried out as part of Queensland Rail’s Station Accessibility Upgrade Program.
Trains will continue to run express through the station up until the last service on Sunday 29 June.
Customers can look forward to using the new, modern, fully accessible station from Monday 30 June, when trains will once again stop at Buranda station.
