Bravus Mining and Resources is seeking more workers for its Carmichael coal mine in Queensland as the company ramps up production to capitalise on record prices.
Construction of the Carmichael Mine and Rail Project began in June 2019 and is now exporting high quality coal as part of an affordable and sustainable energy mix that includes generation from Adani’s extensive renewables portfolio.
More than 2600 direct jobs have been provided and more than $1 billion paid to regional Queensland contractors and businesses since then.
Townsville and Rockhampton are the primary employment hubs for the project, while Bowen is the primary employment hub for Bravus’ sister company, Bowen Rail Company.
ABravus spokesperson said the mine continues to safely and efficiently ramp up to its constructed level of production, which is in the order of 10 million tonnes per annum.
“As we ramp up, we’re delighted to continue to offer roles for experienced truck, dozer, grader, and loader operators and tradespeople through our mining services contractor MacKellar Group,” he said.
“We believe coal will be a vital part of a sustainable energy mix for decades to come, and anyone interested in joining the team at Carmichael should look to apply through the Carmichael Jobs portal.
“While we’re down from the employment peaks now the primary construction phase is finished, we still have more than 750 people on site at any time while another third are on days off.”
