<p>The resources sector bid a fond farewell to Queensland premier Peter Beattie, after he announced yesterday (Monday, September 10) that he was “well and truly over it”.</p> <p>Mr Beattie cited health and family reasons for his decision to retire, effective 10 am on Thursday.</p> <p>The deputy premier and treasurer Anna Bligh will be formally endorsed to succeed Mr Beattie at a Labor caucus meeting tomorrow.</p> <table width="150" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" align="right" height="237"> <tr> <td width="292" height="10"><div align="center">
